Innovation is our main focus, rather than continuing with traditional products. We intend to revolutionise and conquer the world with new inventions. We have already attempted to find a solution to a global epidemic with one of our new products. There will be a worldwide demand once the product is launched, we hope,” noted Nature’s Agro Products Lanka Chairman Samantha Punchi Hewa.

Nature’s Agro Products Lanka, a leading value-added cinnamon and spices exporting company, was presented the Gold Award in Value-Added Agriculture Sector, Medium-Scale Coconut and Coconut-Based Products sub category at the 24th annual National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) Awards, held recently at The Hilton Colombo.

With a long and proud history in international trade, Nature’s Agro Products Lanka is currently exporting its products to 20 countries including South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Bolivia and Saudi Arabia.

Reputed internationally for quality cinnamon products, Nature’s Agro Products Lanka has an excellent range of value-added quality exports including tea, virgin coconut oil, nutmeg, pepper and clove.

The company has been awarded with ISO 22000 and HACCP standards and a number of quality certificates. Nature’s Agro Products Lanka continues its endeavors in manufacturing herbal products aimed at improving the quality of life

“My desire is to see Sri Lanka becoming a great Financial Hub, an important place to do world class trading. I personally strive hard to make things happen in the trading business by promoting unique identity Agro products to the world market and by doing that I have achieved the NCE Gold Award and I am proud of that,” said Samantha.

I hope to revolutionize the global market by introducing a product which comes from Cinnamon soon. This will pave the way to cure many sicknesses mainly incurable cancer. I hope to spend a great deal of time and money on this product and has done lots of research work. This product I want to introduce would be the product of the century. My innovative idea will have a great impact on the world market bringing billions of dollars to our country and this could be the biggest foreign exchange earner to our country.” Samantha pointed out.

Risk factors

“I should say it is not an easy task but I have built up a good reputation with some foreign governments where they have already given me assurance to back me up as this could help the cancer patients all over the world to cure themselves by using my innovated product on a daily basis, ending up the misery they go through. I expect lots of challenges and obstacles when I start marketing my product from the world powerful bodies but I am positive, those selfish, motivated and aggressive challenges will vanish once the world recognizes the benefits all human beings could get by using my product in time to come,” noted Samantha Punchi Hewa.

Encouragement and flexibility

“At this point I feel our government should encourage people like us, who are into export oriented business, by making it easier to deal with current problems we face at governmental bodies. The complications we face as exporters are terrible and there should be an easy system for us to deal with by introducing modern technology to the old bureaucratic system.
Government policies and economic reforms should be planned to create a knowledge based social market economy and an export-oriented economy as well as the Western Region Megapolis in the western province to promote economic growth.
